Learning with digital technologies
Both education and life are changing and it is now vital that children are digitally fluent in order to thrive in life.
We have digital tools including iPads and chromebooks that are available to enhance your child's learning experience. Teachers and students use these as part of their daily learning programme.
Fitness / P.E. Sports Programme
All pupils participate in daily fitness and Physical Education. Senior pupils also have a sports programme involving minor games, where skills taught during Physical Education are applied. The school fields hockey, basketball and netball teams when coaches are available. For Saturday sports, children participate through local clubs. There is regular interchange between schools in a variety of sporting activities for older pupils.
Our school considers the Waterwise programme a feature of our Y5 & Y6 outdoor education experience. The water based activities for this programme are held at Birkenhead Wharf at the beginning and end of the year. Children will be provided with practical experience in Kayaking and Optimist sailing safely on and near water. In addition children also participate in land-based activities held at school. Parents will be advised of costs for transport and facility charge prior to commencement of programme.
As our school does not have a swimming pool only Y4 to Y6 pupils will participate in a swimming programme using local community facilities early in the year.
