VHS Welcomes

Class of 2026

Welcome message from Mr. Cogdill, VHS Principal

Dear Parents and Guardians:

Please allow me to be the first person to welcome you and your child to Verona High School. This is an exciting time in your child's education. We recognize that transitioning to high school can be a scary time for students and parents, especially as we emerge from this pandemic. It is our hope that we are able to address your questions throughout this transition process so that your child feels comfortable when starting at Verona High School. (Please see the bottom of this page on how to navigate this website).

The next few months will be an exciting time for you and your child as they begin the process of meeting with their school counselor to develop a schedule for freshman year. At Verona High School, we place a high value on the Counselor-Student-Parent relationship. Beginning in grade 8 and continuing through grade 12, you will have a meeting with your child's school counselor each year. Your child's school counselor will introduce themselves when they send you an invitation to your grade 8 Student-Parent Counseling Meeting. You should expect to receive your counseling invitation in the next few weeks. As part of your counseling meeting, your child will be able to tour Verona High School.

The middle school administration and staff are working closely with VHS counselors and teaching staff to ensure each student has a smooth transition to high school. In the fall, each student will be invited to a Freshman Orientation. Should you have a question, please contact your child's middle school counselor who will be able to provide you with assistance.

We thank you for choosing Verona High School to continue your child's education. We look forward to working with you over the next four years so that you may have a positive and rewarding high school experience.

Sincerely,

J. Cogdill

Principal
