Instructional Walkthroughs

"Instructional Walkthroughs" are planned by principals and SBLTs (School Based Leadership Teams.) The purpose of a walkthrough is to visit classrooms to build a deeper understanding of schoolwide practices in order to identify strengths and areas of improvement in teaching and learning.

Each walkthrough requires thoughtful planning and a great deal of communication. Walkthroughs are not connected to teacher evaluation, rather they are a way to monitor schoolwide trends in instruction and measure progress on the school's Theory of Action.
