From the program for the event:
"What follows is a collection of pieces intended to represent the labyrinth in which we all have found ourselves. Our script begins thematically at the beginning of the year and moves through to the end of the year and beyond. Our intent is to share a mix of real accounts of experiences from 2020, as well as original poetry, dialogue and music inspired by events of the past year."
To the right is the video of the complete performance.
Below you will find additional content presented during the performance.
This piece was created for the Venture Academy theatre department. It was a multimedia performance written, produced, and performed by students during the COVID-19 pandemic and in the wake of the uprising following the murder of George Floyd. The production was performed on May 21 and 22, 2021 outdoors at East Side Neighborhood Services in Northeast Minneapolis.
This is the student created video used in the performance. It is difficult to see in the performance video.
Below are poems and animations created for the production by our lead writer, Kaelyn Rothe.
("Never Once" was the seed for the adaptation of "The Labyrinth" that Kaelyn would go on to write and star in the following year.)
