Non-Jewish Europeans (not in Germany)

These people turned against their Jewish friends and fellow citizens for fear that they too would be imprisoned as Jewish sympathizers. This includes non-Jewish residents of German occupied territories (not Germany itself), particularly people who lived near and said nothing against the Concentration/Death Camps.

German Citizens

These people helped bring Hitler and the NSDAP Party to power in order to revitalize their morally and economically depressed country.

Minor SS

Also known as the Schutzstaffel (SS) soldiers, who carried out the mass extermination orders without questioning their superiors. This includes those who worked at camps, rounded up Jews, liquidated ghettos, and those who joined the death squads.

Top SS

Also known as the leaders of the Schutzstaffel (SS), who gave the orders to SS soldiers, and designed the "Final Solution" for Hitler.

Adolf Hitler

The leader of the NSDAP and German nation who hated Jews and wanted them annihilated.

NSDAP Propagandists

These are the people who promoted the ideas of Hitler and the SS Leaders, including organizations who made films, published books, and targeted citizens of all ages.

Leaders of the Allied Forces

The Allied countries who eventually saw evidence of the Holocaust but refused to get involved or voice opposition to Hitler's plan of extermination.

Religious Groups of all denominations

The religious organizations around the world, including Catholic and Christians, that remained silent and refused to intervene when confronted with evidence of the Holocaust.
