Band 2020-2021 Class Description

In Band, students learn a traditional Brass, Woodwind or a Percussion instrument. We meet Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 4-5pm, with small group instrumental classes either before or after band. We currently offer flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone and percussion. Small group instrumental classes are led by Harmony Project Teaching Artists Hayles King (trumpet and trombone), Shahid Osuna(flute), Chris Amaro (Percussion), and Paul Browne (clarinet and saxophone). During distance learning, all classes will take place on Zoom. Visit our Gallery to view videos of past performances.

When Ventura USD gives us permission, our live classes will be at Sheridan Way Elementary School.

Important band files will be stored in Google Drive.

We use "Measures of Success" (FJH Publishing) as our band method book. We provide all of our beginners with a copy. If it is lost or needs to be replaced, you can order it on Amazon or request it at any local music store. Make sure to order "Book 1" and to request the edition for your student's specific instrument.
