About Us...

The Tech Center Preschool is a program for children ages 3-5 year-old in Virginia Beach. The preschool operates under the supervision of two high school teachers at the Virginia Beach Technical & Career Education Center. Students in 11th and 12th grade who attend the Early Childhood Education class at the Tech Center act as teacher assistants in the preschool. The high school students learn about early childhood education and work in the preschool to implement developmentally appropriate lessons and activities.

Creative Curriculum is used in our preschool. It is play-based and features centers such as dramatic play, science, art, sensory, block building and circle time. We serve a daily snack and go outside for large motor activities on two playgrounds. The Tech Center Preschool is open to the public. Up to twenty children are accepted for each of the two sessions (morning or afternoon).
