A Demo Slam is basically a way to allow members of the school community to share their favorite tech tips. Participants are given 3 minutes to present the tool and the audience gets to vote at the end. We have some very creative tech users here at OLHS so we anticipate an epic battle and lots of great ideas!
Google has had geniuses developing awesome technology tools for a very long time, yet for most people the first thing they think of when they hear the word Google is the search feature. Google has so much more to offer than just a search engine. The problem is that geeky, developer types are often not the best at explaining how awesome their new, latest gadget is. So about 6 years ago the people at Google had yet another BRILLIANT idea! The USERS should explain why the tool is so awesome!
...and Google Demo Slam was born!
Easy! OLHS will be hosting their second annual Demo Slam on March 26th. This will be a live, face-to-face slam held in the OLHS Schola and open to all staff members. In the future we also plan to host an online, asynchronous slam using video entries.
ANY OLHS staff member can sign up to present their favorite tech tip. Hurry! There will only be time for 12 slammers! We may even consider a few student entries.
