This week in Caterpillars, the children have been enjoying reading The Last Stop on Market Street. Inspired by the story, they have been exploring their creativity by designing and making a variety of transport models using construction toys, as well as arts and crafts materials. It has been wonderful to see their imagination, problem-solving skills, and teamwork shine through in their creations.

This week, our Year 2 pupils took part in an exciting scooter training programme designed to develop their confidence, coordination and road safety awareness.

Throughout the sessions, the children learned a range of important skills, including how to control their scooters safely, manoeuvre around obstacles, stop effectively and be aware of their surroundings. They also explored key safety messages, such as the importance of wearing appropriate safety equipment and understanding how to travel responsibly in shared spaces.

Year 6 have returned to school with enthusiasm, focus and a real determination to learn. The children have worked incredibly hard during our first week back and have already produced some excellent work across the curriculum.

In Science, the class explored the seven life processes of living things, creating colourful and informative presentations to demonstrate their understanding. In Geography, they worked collaboratively to investigate global trade, considering what different countries produce, import and export, while developing their geographical vocabulary and reasoning skills. The quality of discussion, teamwork and presentation across the class has been particularly impressive.

We are extremely proud of the effort, maturity and positive attitude the children have shown this week. They have approached every challenge with curiosity and determination, setting a fantastic tone for the term ahead.
