Our Vision and Mission Statements represent the collective aspirations and goals of our organization. They serve as guiding principles that steer our efforts in fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement in vocational education throughout the state.
Vision Statement (what we hope to accomplish): "To cultivate a vibrant community of trade
and industry educators within Virginia, promoting teacher collaboration, innovation, and
continuous improvement in Career & Technical Education practices. Through collaborative
efforts, we will help shape a skilled workforce prepared to thrive in a dynamic global economy."
Mission Statement (VATIE’s business, objectives, and related strategies): "VATIE will
empower Virginia's trade and industry educators to inspire excellence in Career & Technical
Education by fostering teacher collaboration, and equipping teachers with the skills and
knowledge needed to help their students succeed in an ever-evolving workforce landscape."
Motto: “Bridging the Gap”
The purpose of the Virginia Association of Trade and Industrial Educators (VATIE) shall be to promote the highest standard of professionalism among its members, bridging the gap between Trade and Industrial Education and business and industry. VATIE shall provide membership training, educational opportunities, and professional updates to create within the Trade and Industrial Education system of the Commonwealth of Virginia, a level of career training of the highest standards. VATIE will also further the goals of promoting quality Trade and Industrial Education by maintaining affiliations with other professional Career and Technical Associations, such as The Virginia Association of Career and Technical Education (VACTE), The Association of Career and Technical Education (ACTE), and with SkillsUSA.
VATIE is organized exclusively for charitable, religious, educational, and scientific purposes, including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to associations that qualify as exempt associations under section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code.
