Our mission as Hudson’s Bay High School counselors is to advocate for all students and provide a comprehensive program that will assist them in acquiring the skills, knowledge and attitudes necessary to become effective students, responsible community members, and lifelong learners. School counselors are an integral part of the school community who address the personal/social, academic and career needs of all students. School counselors collaborate with students, teachers, administrators, families, community members, and partner organizations to deliver a Comprehensive School Counselor Program.
Students and families can email counselors to arrange a meeting, ask questions, and get more information. Students and families can also call their counselor, however, be advised that counselors are often unable to take phone calls during the school day. Email is the fastest and most efficient way to contact a counselor.
Students and families can reach out to counselors via the email listed below.

SCHEDULES
Hudson's Bay follows a six-period day, every day. Classes begin at 8:35 AM and, with the exception of Mondays, students are released at 3:10 PM. On Mondays, students are released at 1:10 PM to allow for teacher planning and time for family connections. Click here for Bell Schedules
Students forecast for classes starting in March. Counselors monitor student credits and are available to advise students on the different options available to them during the forecasting process. This is a student's time to request what classes they would like to take next school year. Please note that requested classes are not a guarantee but serve as a guide for the system that builds student schedules. Schedules may change over time as alterations are made to balance classes and plan for the upcoming school year.
After the forecasting period is closed in May, there will be NO schedule changes unless: (1) the student is in the wrong level of class, (2) an administrator directs the change, or (3) a change must be made so that the student can meet on-time graduation requirements.
Please do not contact counselors asking for a schedule change unless it meets one of the above exceptions.
ATTENDANCE
Counselors have access to resources that can help students improve their attendance. Even just two missed days a month can lead to difficult academic problems that students can struggle to recover from. Good attendance means that students come to every class, every day, on time and ready to learn. Contact the counselor if your student is having trouble staying in class, getting to class on time, or coming to school entirely.
SPECIAL PROGRAMS (Running Start/Cascadia Tech)
Cascadia Tech Academy is a cooperative Career and Technical learning experience created in partnership with ten school districts in Southwest Washington open to students in 11th and 12th grade. Cascadia offers several programs that prepare students to enter the world of work right after high school. No matter what program/pathway they pursue, students leave Cascadia with a well-rounded view of what their career path could look like with the skills and attitudes necessary to succeed. This means they’re a step ahead of their peers and have the confidence they need to enter the workforce and meet its demands with success.
Running Start provides academically motivated on-track students an opportunity to take college courses as part of their high school education. Juniors and Seniors can earn college credits while completing their high school diploma. Students work along side their Bay counselor to pick classes that will meet remaining graduation requirements and may also allow students to work towards earning their Associates degree.
Students interested in attending Running Start or Cascadia Tech should make an appointment with their counselor to talk about options and requirements.
