Plan Types and When to Use Them
General Education Support
Place to house interventions and progress monitors for any and all students in your class who are not on an IEP or in the RTI process
Use for students you think may go to RTI and/or progress monitoring every student in your class, rather than house progress monitors in multiple places
Milepost Plan
Typically used for students deemed most ‘at risk’, or not making adequate progress, even with interventions in place.
Often a prerequisite to an IEP Referral.
Generally has multiple interventions embedded.
Considered to be the next step up from a simple intervention.
Use this plan with the RTI team in your building when General Education Support interventions have not worked and the student is headed toward Special Education testing or Special Education testing has already started.
