About Me

I received my Ph.D. in Human Factors Psychology from the University of Central Florida, my M.A. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from the University of West Florida, and B.S. in Psychology from the University of Florida. After graduate school, I worked for the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division, mostly conducting research and helping to develop training programs for submariners. Since I began working at UWF in 1998, I have conducted research in a variety of topics related to human attention, including: Boredom Proneness, Vigilance, Cognitive Failures, Distracted Driving, and Situation Awareness. My more applied work involves developing and evaluating training programs and technologies. I teach a variety of courses that include General Psychology, Industrial Psychology, Psychology of Learning, Training and Development, and Human Factors Psychology.
