Community Engagement (CE) and the Scholarship of Engagement for Societal Impact (SoE-SI) Project Engagement initiatives. 

The Community Engagement Unit (CEU) seeks to facilitate community engagement (CE) as it promotes the scholarship of teaching and learning. Utilising the theoretical framework posed by Ernest Boyer, the CEU aims to develop a scholarship of engagement at the University of Western Cape as it seeks to institutionalise community engagement as a third pillar at the UWC.

The CEU would like to acknowledge that the development of sustainable partnerships within the institution as well as with broader society is a prerequisite to the delivery on the institutional goals and strategic objectives of the University of the Western Cape.
