Q: What are your physics/science interests?
I have a pretty broad physics interest in both theory and experiment. In research, I have found myself working primarily on projects related to gravitational waves and particle physics. I am also particularly interested in archaeology and the potential for implementation of more complex physics into archaeological sciences and archaeology as a whole.
Q: What are your other interests?
I like to travel and experience new places and things. I run for my college’s track and field team where I compete primarily in short sprints (100m and 200m dash). I also play the cello and love to listen to music.
Q: What would you like to do after college?
I would like to pursue a Ph.D. in physics or a closely related field. After which, I would like to continue on to a career in research in some capacity.
Q: Tell us one strange but interesting fact about yourself?
I used to compete for Team USA Ice Cross (Red Bull Crashed Ice). That essentially consists of wearing skates and racing 3 other people down a ski hill that has been covered in ice. I started competing at 16 and was invited to the World Championship in Moscow in 2021 but couldn’t go because of Visa issues.
Q: What first sparked your interest in Physics?
I got really into space as a young kid and loved to read books about space and visit the planetarium. In school I tended to be drawn to my math and science courses. In 4th grade, I learned that black holes were in fact a real thing which blew my mind and essentially solidified my decision to study physics.
Q: If you could have any pet, what would it be?
I would want a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, and I would want to name her Laika.
Q: If you had a free month and unlimited funds, how would you spend your time?
I would spend my time traveling and exploring new places (while eating all of the cool food I could).
Q: If you could get a grant to study anything, what would it be?
I would love to study some cool physics techniques that could be applied to archaeology such as remote sensing technologies like LiDAR or different types of dating techniques.
