Q: What are your physics/science interests?
I am fascinated by the behavior of matter under uncommon and/or extreme conditions. Also, the mathematical machinery we use to describe our physical world is very intriguing.
Q: What are your other interests?
Mathematics, philosophy, sports, movies, books, music, weather, geography, travel.
Q: What would you like to do after college?
Continue to explore.
Q: Tell us one strange but interesting fact about yourself?
When I was little, I couldn't tell my two triplet brothers apart.
Q: What first sparked your interest in Physics?
My family built a model of the solar system out of foam balls and metal sticks, and we put glow in the dark stars on my bedroom ceiling. Four-year-old me decided that day: I was going to be an astronaut.
Q: If you could have any pet, what would it be?
I have a tortoise back home. I would add bigger tortoises, goats, and penguins. It would be a yard full of amusing and majestic creatures.
Q: If you had a free month and unlimited funds, how would you spend your time?
I would go to a casino and put an arbitrarily large amount of money all on black. Then, I would lobby the government to make comic sans the official font for academic writing.
Q: If you could get a grant to study anything, what would it be?
I would investigate the origins of the use of the letter "xi" in equations, and I would search for a way to remove the letter from existence. I would also be open to studying black holes, the unification of the strong and electroweak interactions, or topics in complex analysis.
