Q: What are your physics/science interests?
I am interested in biophysics and chemical biology, especially in molecular biophysics and
applications of physics to medical imaging.
Q: What are your other interests?
I enjoy reading and all sorts of outdoor activities, such as hiking, biking, and playing tennis.
Q: What would you like to do after college?
After college, I plan to attend grad school. I would like to pursue a career in academia to follow my desire to teach and perform research.
Q: Tell us one strange but interesting fact about yourself?
This kinda ties to one of your next questions… I actually have a pet Chinchilla. She is now 14 years old which I don’t think my parents thought about back when I got her in first grade!
Q: What first sparked your interest in Physics?
In high school, I enjoyed the problem-solving component of physics; however, my physics
interests were not truly sparked until college when I began to see the connections between
physics and biology. I love studying physics because it gives me a different mindset and skill set to approach my biochemical research interests.
Q: If you could have any pet, what would it be?
I would love to have a goat. I think they are super entertaining, and never having to mow my lawn would be a plus!
Q: If you had a free month and unlimited funds, how would you spend your time?
Obviously a lot of the funds would go towards some really good food. My time would be spent traveling with friends, but I would have each of them decide on a place we should visit. It would be more exciting to see places that I wouldn’t have even considered visiting.
Q: If you could get a grant to study anything, what would it be?
I think it would be really cool to study generationally-focused approaches to science education and communication. As the way we consume information changes, it is important to know how to best make research publications accessible to younger generations.
