Q: What are your physics/science interests?
I am broadly interested in theoretical physics. I am particularly interested in quantum field theory (e.g. standard model formalism) and gravity (e.g. general relativity, causal structures).
Q: What are your other interests?
I like birds, fountain pens, beadwork (particularly making bead lizards), and hiking.
Q: What would you like to do after college?
I would like to go to graduate school to continue doing research in theoretical physics.
Q: Tell us one strange but interesting fact about yourself?
I can’t really taste bitterness.
Q: What first sparked your interest in Physics?
I liked the elegance of the formalism and continued to take physics courses out of curiosity. At some point I realized I was surrounded by physicists and was just as interested, so I stuck with it.
Q: If you could have any pet, what would it be?
I currently have a leopard gecko and I am very happy.
Q: If you had a free month and unlimited funds, how would you spend your time?
In all honesty, I would do exactly what I am doing now (cool research in a great part of the country), but maybe I would give myself a bigger budget for food.
Q: If you could get a grant to study anything, what would it be?
I would want to study rattlebacks (the spinning top). It’s completely baffling to me how they work and I wish I had the time and money to figure them out.
