Q: What are your physics/science interests?

I have taken courses in astronomy, biology, chemistry, geology, kinesiology, and physics. Through taking these courses, I discovered that I had interest in the physics aspects of each subject. Currently, I don’t have a favorite type of physics and I am interested in learning about all of it.

Q: What are your other interests?

In my spare time, I mainly enjoy reading books. I also listen to alternative rock and podcasts about the universe.

Q: What would you like to do after college?

After completing my undergraduate, I would like to attend a graduate school where I could become involved in a physics program and pursue a PhD.

Q: Tell us one strange but interesting fact about yourself.

I competed in gymnastics for fifteen years before graduating high school. During this time, I participated in competitions all the way from California to New York. In college, I obtained a scholarship for acrobatics and tumbling where I competed for two years.

Q: What first sparked your interest in Physics?

I took two astronomy courses at a nearby college while in high school. During these courses, I learned some physics concepts which led to me take my first physics course once I began attending my undergraduate school.

Q: If you could have any pet what would it be?

I would want a fish. They’re low maintenance, so it would be easy to take care of in a dorm room. Also, fish can be taken on airplanes, so it would be easy to transport if I need to travel. More exotic pets are expensive and often difficult to care for, but a fish is simple.

Q: If you had a free month and unlimited funds, how would you spend your time?

I would want to travel outside of the country. I’ve never really been outside of the US, and this would give me the chance to explore other cultures. I could learn so much about how the rest of the world operates if I could go see the rest of the world. With unlimited funds, I could sponsor trips for other people who want to know more about the world, but do not have the funds to go.

Q: If you could get a grant to study anything what would it be?

I would do research on studies that are already happening and join a group instead of starting a study by myself. At this point, there are many people with greater expertise than me who I would like to learn from. Joining a group of people who already have a plan and learning from them makes more sense to me than starting that the beginning by myself. “If you are the smartest person in the room, you are in the wrong room” (Confucius).
