Q: What are your physics/science interests?
Currently, I'm interested in particle physics and things like CP violation, symmetries, and groups. I really like learning about the mathematics describing nature, and I'm a big fan of Linear Algebra.
Q: What are your other interests?
I make lots and lots of art; I'll scour the streets for objects being thrown out that could definitely be turned into an art canvas and an invitation to paint. Aside from art, I'm also into skateboarding, long-distance running, camping, and playing piano.
Q: What would you like to do after college?
I'm not entirely sure, but a lifestyle similar to that of Paul Erdős sounds appealing: minimal possessions and constant mobility, traveling between science conferences, staying in one area to collaborate and work with others on different ideas and papers before moving again.
Q: Tell us one strange but interesting fact about yourself.
I can circular breathe? I'm not sure if that's really all that strange or just an ability that you never think you'll need until you meet someone who owns a digeridoo.
Q: What first sparked your interest in Physics?
Honestly, I fell into physics kind of by accident. One day while in high school I was in a Books-A-Million, happened to stumble upon the physical science section, picked up "Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman!", read the introduction, thought something along the lines of "hm, that was entertaining, I'll read this." By the time I had finished the book, I had decided: physics seems pretty cool; I think I want to learn more about this.
Q: If you could have any pet, what would it be?
I think ants are pretty cool, so maybe having a formicarium.
Q: If you had a free month and unlimited funds, how would you spend your time?
I would definitely purchase a decent tent and go National Park hopping around the western U.S.
