Q: What are your physics/science interests?
I've always have a place in my heart for understanding elementary particle interactions. I don't know, it doesn't feel right to be to talk about the higher levels of abstraction of science (such as the study of molecules) without having the fundamental forces completely understood.
Q: What are your other interests?
My favorite past time is to produce music. I can't talk about whether I'm any good, but just like any artist I'm in it for the expression of one's self in other ways beyond words. I'm also super into fitness and I really enjoy participating in races like a 5k.
Hopefully I'll continue to be a contributing member to the growing body of knowledge around particle physics, from either being a professor at a University or a researcher at one of our many amazing national labs.
Q: Tell us one strange but interesting fact about yourself.
I have one scar running right down the middle of my forehead. You can barely see it nowadays, but it makes me look like I'm some character in a novel or something of the sort.
Q: What first sparked your interest in Physics?
I remember when science channels on YouTube would talk about the insane world of Quantum Mechanics. Our intuitions about how the world behaves stop working at this level, and the development of a completely new set of logic was so intriguing to me. It would only be a matter of time before I had to know more.
Q: If you could have any pet what would it be?
A cockatoo. Those birds can say a lot and honestly most of it is hilarious.
Q: If you had a free month and unlimited funds, how would you spend your time?
I would drive my newly purchased Ferrari up to a lake and with a 10 story tall rubber ducky. After a few days of shenanigans though, I would see if I could help fund some really interesting science projects and push the boundaries of our knowledge even further.
Q: If you could get a grant to study anything what would it be?
I would investigate accelerator technology even further to get COM energies up to 15, 16 or even all the way up to 20 TeV of energy.
