Q: What are your physics/science interests?
I am primarily interested in plasma physics and condensed matter. More recently I have become very interested in research surrounding fusion science.
Q: What are your other interests?
Fencing has been a passion of mine since high school and I am currently the vice president of my school’s fencing club. I also am pursuing a mathematics minor.
Q: What would you like to do after college?
I would like to attend grad school, most likely to pursue a PhD in physics. I am still unsure what subfield I would like to specialize in though.
Q: Tell us one strange but interesting fact about yourself.
I once became the president of a club by default. No one was running for president, so I was desperately asked to run. I agreed, and I won instantly!
Q: What first sparked your interest in Physics?
I have been interested in math and science in general since i was young. When I was trying to figure out what science classes to take in high school, several people recommended physics, but I really wanted to take marine biology because I thought I would like learning about marine life more. I ended up not having the best time in that class, so I started looking into physics again and ended up loving it. I kept finding myself wanting to learn more and I’ve been hooked ever since.
Q: If you could have any pet, what would it be?
I would love to have an iguana! A dog would be nice too, but I am allergic to most breeds. If I did get a dog, it would probably be an american hairless terrier.
Q: If you had a free month and unlimited funds, how would you spend your time?
I would like to help support various hospitals and organizations that help people in need. There are some organizations that mean more to me than others, but I would like to fund as many as possible.
Q: If you could get a grant to study anything, what would it be?
I would like to conduct research on experimental fusion!
