Postdoctoral position:

In January 2026, we are relocating to Yale university to start a theory initiative at the Center for Systems and Engineering Immunology (CSEI).

We are looking for talented postdocs to join our group at Yale.

Theme 1: Physics-inspired machine learning for molecular recognition
develop methods that leverage physical constraints to model and design immune-pathogen interactions.

Theme 2: Modeling cell-fate decisions in dynamic environments
build predictive, controllable models of immune responses under time-varying cellular and tissue conditions.

These project will involve development of novel statistical inference and AI techniques suitable for large scale analysis of protein 3D structures, transcriptomes, and other functional readouts.

Duration: The initial 12-month appointments are renewable for up to 5 total years.

Skillset: Successful applicants will have strong quantitative and computational skillset. Experience in statistical physics, inference methods and data analysis, machine learning, and both analytical and computational programming will be highly valued. Moreover, a deep interest in immunology and/or protein science, and ideally prior experience in these areas, will be valuable.  They must have strong written and oral communication skills and commitment to working as part of a constructive, productive team. These projects are highly interdisciplinary, and candidates will be expected to collaborate closely with both experimental and computational colleagues.

Application: To apply for these postdoctoral positions, please email a research statement, CV, contact information for at least two references, and relevant publications/preprints/GitHub repositories to armita.nourmohammad@yale.edu. In your statement please describe your research interests and why you are a suitable candidate to lead any of the above projects.

Members of the underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.

Review of candidates will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.

General Openings:

We are always looking for enthusiastic Bachelor/Master/PhD students and Postdocs to join our group.

Graduate students must enroll via one of the graduate programs (Physics, BME, Computational Biology,…) at Yale.

To inquire about potential positions, please submit your CV and a short research statement, describing your interests and why you want to join our group.
