The Denver international airport (DEN) is the closest airport to Boulder (~30 miles). This website has a list of travel options for getting to Boulder and additional information about getting to UC Boulder can be found here.
Options Include:
RTD AB2 bus to Canyon - 28th St
RTD AB1/AB2 bus to Downtown Boulder followed by local public transit.
The workshop will take place in the Jennie Smoly Caruthers Biotechnology Building (JSCBB) on CU Boulder campus which is about a 1.2 mile walk from the workshop hotel.
Public Transit
You can take public transportation for about half of the trip, but it still requires a considerable amount of walking, see google maps for details.
Rideshare
You can utilize ridesharing (uber, lyft, etc).
Personal/Rental Car
There is parking available on CU Boulder campus, see links below for details including location and costs.

CU Boulder is at 5,340ft above sea level. Typically, altitude sickness is rare below 8,000ft but is certainly still possible! Altitude sickness symptoms include: headache, nausea, loss of appetite, fatigue, dizziness.
Tips for preventing/mitigating altitude sickness:
rest
avoiding excess physical activity
drinking water
avoiding alcohol and other drugs (particularly sedatives)
protect yourself from the sun (sunblock, UV clothing, sunglasses, hat)
