I work at the intersection of social and cultural studies. My research is concerned with women's rights and gender sensitivity (e.g. the feminization of the pandemic). I am interested in women's work, phenomena of alienation and empowerment, with particular emphasis on women's life writings and auto/biographies.

This book is the story of Gloria Jean Watkins (1952-2021), a Black woman from a small town in Kentucky who became a bell hooks – a feminist icon, one of the most significant and courageous voices of the contemporary debates on racial discrimination, feminism, and women’s and minority rights. Michael Jackson as a mythical hero. An anthropological perspective (EBOOK)
The aim of this book is to investigate how traits of a mythical hero are manifested in modern culture and, to be more precise, in social beliefs about Michael Jackson. These beliefs are traces leading to complex levels of understanding the phenomenon of pop culture and its taboo. Pop culture makes up its own mythologies and creates its own heroes, but it does so with a reference to the more complex cultural wholeness.
