From Passion to Action: Effective Community Engagement

How can congregations help change our food systems so that they can be both sustainable and equitable? During this workshop, participants will hear from Dr. Karambu Ringera, founder of the International Peace Initiatives and Tiriji (“the place of abundance”), a permaculture center in Kenya that trains people in the community how to develop and sustain successful food sovereignty projects. Participants will also hear from Joey Kyle, Manager of the Many Hands Peace Farm, at The Mountain Learning and Retreat Center, a UU camp and conference center in Highlands, NC.
