Welcome to my homepage!
I'm Marwan Hadri Azmi, currently a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), and a Research Fellow at the Wireless Communication Centre (WCC), UTM.
Previously, I was with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, UTM, where I built a strong foundation in teaching and research in wireless communications and related fields. My current interests span across AI applications in communication systems, 5G/6G technologies, and intelligent network design.
I received my B.Eng. (Hons.) in Electrical and Telecommunications from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 2003, followed by an M.Sc. in Communications and Signal Processing from Imperial College London in 2005, and a Ph.D. in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of New South Wales, Australia, in 2012.
From 2012 to 2014, I was with McGill University, Canada, working with the funded projects by RIM Inc., and NSERC, Cooperative Spectrum Sensing and Information Relaying in Cognitive Wireless Communications. In 2019, I have also spent 3 months of secondment collaborating with the research team at University of York, UK, on the research topics entitled “Coded Slotted ALOHA for 5G Communications”.
My research interests include mobile and wireless communications, communication theory, error control coding, relay networks, spectrum sensing for cognitive radio, and iterative receiver.
