Elementary and Middle School Self-Paced Programs
There are two programs for elementary school and middle school students. Both of these are self-paced programs where students must completely four engineering design challenges and submit their results for each challenge.
ATTENTION: Due to supply shipping delays, the Elementary and Middle School Programs will open on June 15.
Summer STEM Quest for Elementary Students
Students will learn about four important science and engineering topics through activity videos created by TCE students, and then complete an engineering design challenge to demonstrate what they have learned! Adult supervision is required for these activities.

Summer STEM Quest for Middle School Students
Summer STEM Quest for Elementary Students is geared towards students in grades K-5. Students will learn about four important science and engineering topics through activity videos created by TCE students, and then complete an engineering design challenge to demonstrate what they have learned!

High School Virtual Programs
There are two programs for high school students. These programs are virtual but will include a Canvas course site and Zoom meetings. We ask that you sign up for one program. No experience is needed in building circuits.
Both programs will run from July 19-30, 2021.
Summer Robotics Quest for High School Students
In this two-week program, students will learn about the engineering design process, biomimetics, and robotics while building a biomimetic robot at home. We will supply the robotics parts and you will be able to use household supplies to help create the robot. This program will be approximiately 3 hours of work per day.
This program enrollment caps at 20 spots, so please register here and we will send you a robotics part kit. The program is free.
Energy Scholars Program for High School Students
In this two-week program sponsored by the NSF-DOE funded Center for Ultra-wide-area Resilient Electrical Energy Transmission Networks (CURENT) Engineering Research Center from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, students will learn about energy as it relates to the power grid. They will also learn about renewable energy topics like solar panels and hydroelectricity, and about the social-behavioral attributes of energy and sustainability. This course will feature an independent research capstone project as well as a solar powered power bank building project.
This program is about 3 hours of work per day. Registration is restricted to rising juniors and seniors.
