Educators Between Boundaries
Math Teaching Between High School & College Settings

Past research typically assumes that an instructor is either a high school or college instructor, but not both. However, there are instructors who teach at both levels simultaneously or transition between them during their careers. With support from the National Science Foundation's Building Capacity in STEM Education Research program for 2021-2023, this project studies math educators between the boundaries of high school and college.

Voices of Experienced Math Educators

The first part of this project focuses on collecting and qualitatively analyzing responses from educators who have taught math in both high schools and colleges (which also includes dual enrollment teaching).

A Research-and-Practice Cycle

This project also includes a collaboration between researchers and an instructor to create a research-and-practice cycle which incorporates findings directly into a distance education master's program.
