On March 29 th, the Department of Biostatistics and Data Science Student Association hosted an alumni panel discussion with the goal of preparing students better for their future career paths. We were honored to invite UTHealth Biostatistics and Data Science alumni back to our campus where they shared their experiences with our faculty and students.

The four alumni, Dr. Jill S. Barnholtz-Sloan, Dr. Jiong Chen , Dr. Jada Idokogi and Maxine Olefsky MS, who possess different work backgrounds, answered questions collected from our students.  

Dr. Jill S. Barnholtz-Sloan graduated in 2000 and is currently the Associate Direct, Informatics and Data Science CBITT. Dr. Jiong Chen graduated in 2016, and is the Senior Data Scientist at LinkedIn.  Dr. Jada Idokogi graduated in 2020, and is currently a senior statistician at Johnson & Johnson. Maxine Olefsky MS graduated in 2016, and is currently a Biostatistician II at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health - Center for Biostatistics in AIDS.
