Library and Library Resources

Library

We strive to provide a calm and well-ordered environment where students can find a quiet corner, take part in a lively shared reading session, and learn the skills to navigate libraries independently. We recognize our fortunate role at the heart of the school community and encourage the students to share their voices, views, and develop their love of reading in all its forms.  Promotion of multilingualism, diversity, and inclusion are at the heart of our philosophy as a school and an essential in our collection development aims. In addition to our substantial collection of English fiction/ non fiction we also have a wide selection of books in Swedish and an ever-growing  selection of  home-language books. Many of these books are in thanks to the generosity of ISH families.

Our IB libraries put all of the ATL skills into practice.

Our libraries are located on three different campuses and are staffed by the EY team , Valentina Jovanovic, Sheila Campbell, and Nurcan Bektas Hay.  You may receive emails from us or our automated reminder system which looks like this: Library-NoReply@m5host.mlasolutions.com

The EY library is located on the second floor of the EY Campus and class teachers provide allocated time for visits to the library for selection of class books and “story time”.

The PYP library in the Petri building is open to students during school hours. Class teachers will provide the schedule for class visits which are made up of shared reading and selecting books for home loan until the next class visit. Students should come with all library loans to every visit, either to return or renew. We also have drop in times for exchanges. The book return box is located in the corridor outside the library for quick drop offs at the students’ convenience. All lost and damaged items are to be reported via email - valentina.jovanovic@helsingborg.se

The MYP/DP library is used by both MYP and DP students. Students will find an age appropriate selection of both classic and modern fiction and non-fiction. Students are welcome for independent study or to exchange books as it fits their schedule. Individuals are responsible for managing their own loans and are expected to return items in a timely manner. Textbooks and class literature are assigned with the assistance of the class teachers. All lost or damaged items are to be reported via email - sheila.campbell@helsingborg.se
