Google for Education

Google for Education is a service the PYP, MYP and DP use for student emails and apps. Students have access to a suite of web apps including their school email, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar, Meet, Groups etc. These products tie into our use of Chromebooks which are incorporated and administered through our Google Workspace. Students receive their school email login credentials within the first few days of enrollment.

This website is the school's primary tool for information for parents for term dates, closures, events, student schedules, and other important information. Parents are expected to check this website regularly for updates on their child's schooling and important events.
ManageBac
Programmes: All

ManageBac is an application that the school uses for planning the curriculum as well as reporting student progress to parents. Weekly newsletters are also posted via ManageBac to keep parents informed of what is happening in your child’s class as well as whole school information. Parents and students will receive a Welcome Email to set their password within the first few days of enrollment.

Open Apply is an application the school uses for enrollment admissions. Information provided in Open Apply synchronizes with Skola24 and ManageBac. Parents and students can check and update their contact details in Open Apply using the same log-in details as for ManageBac.
SchoolCloud (tes)

Login: Parent First Name, Parent Last Name, Parent Email, Student First Name, Student Last Name and Student Date of Birth
SchoolCloud (tes) is an application the school uses for Progress Talks between students, parents and teachers. Prior to progress talks, information is posted on ManageBac and appointments are reserved by logging into SchoolCloud.
Skola24

Login: Email/Username and Password
Skola24 is an application the PYP, MYP and DP uses for schedules, attendance and absence. Parents can see their child's schedule and report absences due to illness. Information provided in Open Apply synchronizes with Skola24. Parents (and students over 18) receive a Welcome Email to set their password within the first few days of enrollment. A Swedish Personal ID Number is required to use Skola24.

Student Device Rules
The following rules apply to all devices belonging to the International School of Helsingborg.
Students are responsible for the care and use of Chromebooks, MacBooks, PC laptops, iPads (devices) they have been issued with by the school. Devices that are broken or fail to work properly must be taken to the IT office within the school as soon as possible so that they can be taken care of properly. Devices should never be taken to an outside computer service for any type of repairs or maintenance.
General Precautions:
Students should never leave their device unattended except when locked in their locker.
The device should never be loaned to another student or individual during the school day or otherwise unless requested to do so by school personnel.
Students should not take, possess, hide other students devices.
No food or drink should be next to the device.
Cords, cables, and removable storage devices (e.g. thumb drives) must be inserted carefully into appropriate port on the device.
The device should not be used with the power cord plugged in when the cord may be a tripping hazard.
The device must remain free of any writing, drawing, stickers, and labels - Labels with students names are available from the IT office.
Heavy objects should never be placed on top of the device.
Carrying the Device:
Always transport the device with care.
Students should hold the device (cover closed) with two hands if they need to carry the device anywhere inside or outside of the classroom.
Never lift the device by the screen.
Never carry the device with the screen open.
Opening the Device:
Open the device only when it is resting on a flat surface such as a table or desk.
To open the device, use one hand to hold the keyboard against the table. Use the other hand to open the screen by grasping the screen’s edge (in the middle) and gently moving the screen to the open position - the hinge of the screen will only allow the screen to be open to a slight angle. Do not attempt to open the screen beyond this stopping point as the screen could break if forced.
Closing the Device:
Before closing the screen, make sure there is nothing on the keyboard to prevent the full closure of the device. Obstacles on the keyboard could cause broken screens or damaged hinges.
Close the screen only when the device is resting on a flat surface such as a table or desk.
Close the device using two hands--one at either corner of the screen.
Close the screen gently.
Screen Care:
The device screen can be damaged if subjected to heavy objects, rough treatment, some cleaning solvents, and other liquids. The screens are particularly sensitive to damage from excessive pressure.
Do not put pressure on the top of the device when it is closed.
Do not store the device with the screen open.
Do not place anything in a protective case that will press against the device casing.
Make sure there is nothing on the keyboard before closing the lid (e.g. pens, pencils, or disks).
Only clean the screen with a soft, dry microfiber cloth or anti-static cloth.
Asset Tags:
The device is labelled with a Helsingborg Stad asset tag. Asset tags may not be modified or tampered with in any way.
Charging the device:
The device should be brought to school each day with a full charge.
Students should charge their devices at home every evening.
Media:
Inappropriate media (images, audio, video, etc.) may not be accessed or stored on the device. The presence of such media will result in disciplinary action.

Audio:
Sound must be muted at all times unless permission is obtained from a teacher.
Headphone use may be permitted at the discretion of the teacher.
Operating system:
Students may not use or install any operating system on their devices other than the original operating system of the device.
Network Access and Security:
Students must log into their devices using the schools Wi-Fi network together with their Google UTB Education username and password.
Students should never share their account passwords with others, unless requested by an administrator.
Students are not allowed to access other students accounts.
Managing and Saving Digital Work:
Students are responsible for frequently saving and maintaining backups of their work when working on digital media (although many cloud-based applications, including Google Docs, automatically save work) - The school is not responsible for the loss of any student work.
Mobile Device Loan Agreement (MYP and DP)
Students in MYP and DP can loan a device from the school under the Mobile Device Loan Agreement. Parents sign the agreement digitally in Open Apply - The form is available to sign in the Checklist section once the student is enrolled.
Mobile Device Loan Agreement.
Purpose.
The agreement is for the regulation of access to a personal mobile computer with associated charger (device) during a student’s time of study. The device is an educational tool to be used to achieve academic goals.
Parties.
The International School of Helsingborg is the lender of the device as described in this agreement. A student, or minor student with guardian, who accepts the terms of the agreement is considered the lendee of the device, with the student being the one using the device.
Loan Period.
The agreement takes effect from the date a guardian of a student under 18 years or student over 18 years signs the agreement. The student has access to the device until the student either completes their education or is signed out of school. The agreement is binding during the agreement period unless written notice is given by the International School of Helsingborg.
Ownership and User Rights.
The International School of Helsingborg owns the device. The lendee may not lend, rent, sell, pawn or otherwise transfer ownership of the device. The device is personal and may only be used by the student.
Terms of Use.
Work Tools: The device is the student’s work tool. The device may only be used for school-related work. The device may be used at school and at home in accordance with the terms of this Agreement and Student Device Rules.
Storage and Handling: The student is responsible for the device as soon as it has been received. The student is responsible for following the School Device Rules. The device is valuable property and should not be left unattended, handled carelessly, or kept at school outside of school hours. The device should be kept in a case or bag in a secure place when not in use, and during transport. Liquids should not be stored or consumed near the device.
Responsibility: The lendee is fully responsible for the device during the loan period. The lendee is liable for any excessive wear and tear, damage, theft or loss of the device, and is liable to pay costs associated with the repair or replacement of the device, up to the current value of the device on loan. The lendee is recommended to have hemförsäkring (home insurance).
Use of the Network and Internet: When using the school’s network or private and public internet, the student must follow the school device rules for computer usage and comply with Swedish law. This includes the use of proper language, consideration of others and respect for all forms of copyright. Distributing text, images or sound which can be perceived as insulting or offensive may constitute a criminal offence.
Installation of Software and Copyrighted Material: It is not allowed to install any additional software on the device without the school’s written permission. Software that is pre-installed on the device may not be copied and installed on other devices.
Backup and Storage of Data: The student is responsible for backing up and storing their own digital content. The municipality offers sites where digital content can be stored as well as created. The municipality takes no responsibility for any material loss in any context.
Access.
As the owner of the device, the school has the right to access, check and confiscate the student’s device at any time, without notice, if the school suspects misuse of the device or breach of this agreement.
Termination.
The International School of Helsingborg has the right to terminate the agreement with immediate effect if the lendee does not comply with the terms of this Agreement. Upon termination, the equipment must be returned immediately. Violation of this may result in a police report being submitted to the Swedish police.
Return of Device.
When the student’s time of study ends, or the student is signed out of school, the Mobile Device Agreement expires. The device must be returned immediately to the school in a fully working condition and with no cosmetic defects associated with excessive wear and tear or damage. If the device is not returned, the lendee will be charged as specified in section 5.3.
