During the summer of 2025, Region Two formed a dedicated concrete crew to replace damaged freeway pavement panels rather than send the work out to contractors. Previously, their concrete screed rollers and equipment was stored on a flatbed trailer. Tools were exposed to the elements or had to be kept inside the shop year round, which took up valuable room, especially during the winter.
They needed an effective and safe way to load, store, and transport the required equipment, especially the roller screeds which weigh over 100 lbs. and pose a lifting hazard for the crew.

The crew purchased a 24 foot enclosed trailer to store the necessary concrete finishing tools and equipment. Scott Revas designed and fabricated racks to hold and organize everything. Their screed rack features rollers that allow them to slide the screeds out of the trailer one at a time rather than maneuver the heavy equipment within the confined space of the trailer. The rollers are locked into place during transport.

The innovative portable concrete repair trailer protects tools from the elements, makes it quick and easy to head out on emergency road blow-up calls, and keeps the crew from straining their backs when loading and unloading the heavy roller screeds.
