It is challenging to achieve complete mastery of information during a workshop lasting only a few hours. Employees typically perform well in the workshop when engaged in active discussions and activities. Human knowledge acquisition is subject to the Ebbinghaus Forgetting Curve, a model illustrating the decline of memory retention over time. This curve demonstrates a significant initial drop in retention shortly after learning, followed by a more gradual decline. Without periodic review, information is rapidly forgotten; however, this process can be mitigated through spaced repetition and active recall to facilitate the transfer of information into long-term memory.
The Employee Development team has implemented a new tool called 7 Taps that is designed to reinforce training content over time, directly addressing the Ebbinghaus curve. This innovative tool delivers concise segments of content at regular intervals, with the aim of refreshing learners' memories and fostering enhanced performance.
Initial feedback from attendees has been overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing appreciation for the reminders, which help keep the content top of mind. Quiz results currently range between 75% and 90%.
