Serving the Salt Lake community for 16 years now, Craft Lake City will be hosting their annual DIY Fest August 9-11 at the State Fairpark. We love supporting local businesses and artists, and know you do too. So grab your wallet and your Cricut because it’s time to get crafty!
Here at K-Ute we’ve had the opportunity to work alongside Craft Lake City in the past and we’re incredibly stoked to be doing it again. If you’ve yet to experience the festival, now’s your chance! But don’t fret, we’re here to guide you on your visit and what to expect while in attendance.
Upon entering you’ll see the incredible arrangement of the artisan market with over 100 vendors involved. All locally owned, these range from jewelry, hand-crafted clothing, woodwork, illustration, and many more. If seeing all the wonderful artwork ignites a crafting spark inside you, Craft Lake City has the perfect solution for you. Throughout the festival grounds there are DIY stations where you can become a professional yourself or create a new hobby to last you a lifetime.
Feeling hungry after all that shopping? There are dozens of options to choose from, including many options brought to you by our local, hand-crafted food vendors. If you’re a big foodie, I can guarantee this will be the place for you; with snacks and beverages galore, created by all of our Utah favorites, you’ll be coming back for more.
DIY is for everyone. If you’ll be enjoying the festival with your family, kids 12 and under enter free and this just might be the place to light their spark of creativity. At Kid Row, there are dozens of activities to keep your kids busy and smiling throughout the day. There are also so many opportunities to experiment and explore within the STEM booth. Getting them started early with DIY Fest is the only way to go.
Now, if you thought all of the crafting was all they had to offer, think again. As a radio station we’re ecstatic about this year’s live music line-up, and we know you will be too. This year will be hosting acts such as Drusky, jimi dead, Goldie and the Guise, Mercy Seat, and so many more.
We hope you’re just as excited for this year’s DIY Fest as we are. For more information and to find tickets, you can go to their website here. Happy crafting!
