"Imprisonment has become the response of first resort, to far too many, of our social problems."

The United States Prisoners' Rights Defense League is a Non-Governmental, Domestic Non-Profit organization founded in Vermont and now headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri to serve those whose voices have been for too long silenced.

Our mission is to serve those both already in the criminal justice system as well as those who it is their first time. We help educate both the defendant/offender as well as the defendant/offenders families. In some situations we assist prisoners with appeals and prison regulation violations as well as assist prisoners in filing court actions against the jails, prisons and correctional facilities for conditions of confinement matters, to include cruel and unusual punishment, corporal punishment and even death at the hands of corrections officers. This assistance comes in the form of Paralegal Service, and in some cases the representation of pro-bono based volunteer attorney's.

We serve each state, including all United States territories.

Contact us today if you have any questions or if you feel we can be of any assistance to you, or if you would like to become a member. In most cases all actions are free of charge. We survive solely on donations, memberships and the great work of pro bono attorneys! We are also seeking those willing to take leadership positions and start USPRDL chapters in their own states.
