Title:Â All Your Bits in a Server?
We study different diversification strategies of the information in a set of servers, namely: i) information segmentation, ii) cryptographic diversification and iii) back-up diversification. We analyse the impact of these different strategies on the optimal investment in information security in the Gordon-Loeb model. We show that diversification plays opposite effects in back-up and cryptographic diversification and no effect in the information segmentation strategy.
