Title: Some New Developments in Mortality Function
During the last decades, mortality has significantly declined around the world, mainly due to the continuous improvement of living conditions and the dynamics of human evolution. The decline in mortality together with some financial and regulatory changes, have created higher financial responsibilities for governments and insurance companies, and have led to the search for new product forms for pension plans. In this paper, we introduce two exponential regression type models for estimating mortality rates based on data provided by the Health and Retirement Study, which is a household survey conducted by the Institute for Social Research at the University of Michigan with cooperation of the National Institute and the Social Security Administration.
