On a circular beam model: Fourier law and observability

Abstract:

The Bresse system is a mathematical model for circular beams that features shear force, bending moment, and axial displacements. Motivated by modeling assumptions concerning this problem, we consider a thermoelastic system where thermal effects satisfy Fourier law and acts independently on above three features. We shall assume the Dirichlet boundary condition and this will bring some difficulties on the energy method. To bypass this problem we shall provide a suitable observability inequality.
