Educational Talent Search

About ETS

USF launched the Educational Talent Search grant in Fall 2016, to support historically marginalized students by providing academic, career, and financial counseling towards high school completion and the pursuit of post-secondary education. College Access Program (CAP) collaborates with institutional and community partners to efficiently serve students and create a safety net of caring adults to help students navigate the educational and social landscapes.

Target Schools

The program serves the following schools:

  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School350 Girard Street, San Francisco, CA 94134

  • Visitacion Valley Middle School1971 Visitacion Valley Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94134

  • Phillip and Sala Burton High School400 Mansel Street, San Francisco, CA 94134


How To Apply

Students must meet the following eligibility requirements:


  • 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th-grade and attend one of the target schools *

  • Be a US citizen or permanent resident (or are in the process)

  • Be a first-generation college-bound student (neither parent/guardian graduated from a four-year college) and/or meet federal low-income guidelines


*We have limited space for students that reside in SF but do not attend one of our target schools.
