Message from the Principal:
- School Buildings Closed due to Corona Virus
- Attention White City School parents and students:
The elementary teachers and staff came in shifts today to sack up the students belongings and get them ready for pickup. We will have curbside pickup starting at 9am on Thursday and Friday and staff will be available through 4pm. Please pull up on the south side of the school and a staff member will bring your kids stuff to you. If you can't make it during that time, you can email Mr. Kahnt (email@example.com) or call the school (349-2211) and leave a message. You will be contacted to set up a time to pick up your belongings. If you have library books at home, please bring them with you to turn back in to the school. We will collect them and any other school issued items that are not needed at this time. The 8th-12th graders will need to come to the West doors and will be allowed to come in a few at a time to get their stuff out of their lockers. They will be given gloves and hand sanitizer along with trash bags. There might be a little wait time as we limit the amount of people in at one time. Please be patient, we will get through as quick as we can.
Over the next couple of days, the teachers will be in contact with the families to check in and see how you are doing. They will also be asking you some questions about your technology at home and also find out what you will need from us. We will have chromebooks available for elementary kids and families if they are needed. An agreement form will need to signed by a parent before one is released to the family. If you do not need one at home, that is good. You are not expected to take one. We want to make them available for those that need them.
The teachers will also be talking to you about what our Continuing Learning Plan will look like for the rest of the school year. It will be a combination of online with some packets sent home. We want to make sure that families are not overwhelmed and are supported. This is a learning opportunity for all of us.
As always, our school and community is strong and resilient. We will not let this get in the way of what is important and that is the kids. Their wellbeing is the by far the most important thing during this time.
If you need anything, please email Mr. Kahnt or reach out to your teachers. We are here for you.
We got this!
