Halstead Debate and Forensics

The Halstead High School debate and forensics teams are groups that participate in competitive speaking and acting. Debate goes on throughout the fall, but in the spring there are a host of different events that students can prepare to compete in, including Humorous Solo Acting, Serious Solo Acting, Duet Acting, Extemporaneous Speaking, Informative Speaking, Original Oration, Impromptu Speaking, Improvised Duet Acting, Program of Oral Interpretation, Oral Interpretation of Prose, and Oral Interpretation of Poetry. The team is led by head coach Andrew Bauer and assistant coach Veronika Harris.
