Coaches

Interview questions:

I always planned on being a coach along with teaching. I like watching my athletes develop skills both on and off the field that will help them throughout the rest of their lives.

The same as every year.....seeing who will come out and watching the teams' chemistry grow throughout the season!

Softball player - Lauren Chamberlian - I was lucky enough to take our team on a trip to some OU softball games her senior year and we got to watch her do what she does best - CRUSH THE BALL!

I love both Volleyball and Softball. They have always been a HUGE part of my life as an athlete and coach.

I have always been an infielder - short stop, 2nd and catcher, but I spent the majority of my time at 1st base and that was always my favorite!

Coach Mader

I began coaching because I wanted to affect athletes lives the way coaches did for me. I had a extraordinary college softball coach who was very influential to me. He was positive motivational, strict, caring and made a big impact on my life. I have been drawn more specifically to coaching softball because it was a sport that was life changing for me as well. It taught me hard work and dedication. I put many hours of work into the sport but it came easily because of my love for it. I wanted to continue to share that love with other athletes.

I always look forward to my time with the players. The relationships that are built in the time we spend together makes me excited to get to get the season underway.

My favorite athlete would have to be Jessica Mendoza who played college softball at Stanford, played for the USA team and is now an ESPN reporter.

Softball, every summer I attend the Women' College World Series and spend a week watching college softball and it is heaven for me.

I was an outfielder in both high school and college ball but was a catcher for one season in High School. I wish that I would have stuck with it and played that position more. Catchers are a big part of the game, its one of the most competitive positions on the field. You get to touch the ball every pitch every play.
