Hello, I am so glad you have decided to check out my page. My name is Abigail Sawin, but you can call me Abi. I am the Band and Choir Director as well as the Music instructor at Hanover Public Schools.
I graduated in 2003 from Friends University, in Wichita Kansas. While attending Friends, I was a member of their elite traveling choir, "The Singing Quakers" under the direction of Dr. Cecil Riney. My love of music grew exponentially under his leadership. I am currently attending Fort Hays State University, working towards my Masters Degree in Education with an emphasis in Music.
This is my sixth year teaching in Hanover, and am looking forward to continuing the success of our program. I can't wait to watch the kids grow their love of music! Along with teaching, I enjoy swimming, and am a workout enthusiast with a strong disdain for running.
I am married to an amazing man, Courtney, who seems to support all my crazy ideas and dreams. We have been married now for 18 years, and have two amazing children who attend Hanover Public School.
Maxwell is a 11th grader, who loves to anything outdoors including fishing and kayaking. He will be playing golf this year, as well as competing with the KnotHeads Community Fishing Team.
Zoe is a 8th grader, and loves anything animal related. She currently enjoys raising her goat herd. The herd consists of over a dozen dairy and meat goats. She will no doubt become an excellent Zoologist someday. Her favorite activities include working with her dogs, chickens, goats, and riding her bike. She also enjoys gymnastics, swimming, and is filled with a brave soul that lives to ride roller coasters with her daddy! She is also running Cross Country, and will be a junior high cheer leader again this year for Hanover.
