Mr. Nate Bauman is in his fourth year as the Principal at Sabetha High School following twenty years teaching business and technology courses at SHS. Included in these courses were: Interactive Media, Media Technology-Workplace Experience, Business Essentials, Entrepreneurship, Accounting I & II, and Web Page Design. In addition to his teaching duties, Mr. Bauman spent time as a coach for football, girls basketball, baseball, and softball.
Mr. Bauman was born and raised in Holton, KS where he attended Holton High School. He then went on to attend Kansas State University and graduate from Emporia State University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Education. He taught for three years in the DeSoto, Kansas School District before making the move to Sabetha in 2002. Mr. Bauman earned his Master's Degree in Education from Baker University in December of 2006 and his Master's Degree in School Leadership from Baker University in December of 2013.
Mr. Bauman is married to his high school sweetheart, Becky, and they have three children: Taylor (and wife, Laeny), Brooklyn (and husband, Brady), and Marcus. He has two grandsons, Ebbet and Camden and a granddaughter, Bennett Kate. Taylor, Laeny, Ebbet, Camden, and Bennett live in Hutchinson and are preparing to enter the mission field. Brooklyn is an occupational therapist at Kansas Rehab Hospital in Topeka and Brady is a construction manager for MCP Contractors. Marcus is a sophomore at Manhattan Christian College majoring in athletic training and playing basketball. Mr. Bauman and his family attend NorthRidge Church in Sabetha and enjoys participating in, coaching, and watching sports (especially the Chiefs, the Royals, the Wildcats, and the Bluejays!), music, and reading in his spare time. He has also been known to enjoy an occasional Dr. Pepper from time to time. :-)
