Bio-sketch

Sepideh Hassan Moghaddam was born in Tehran, Iran. She received her BSc in Electrical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2013, and M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, in 2016. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. degree under the supervision of Professor Mihailo Jovanovic in the Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles.

Research Interests

Sepideh's research interests are centered around design, inference, and control of large-scale networks. Her research focuses on structure identification and optimal control of large-scale networks of dynamical systems. Conventional optimal control of distributed systems relies on centralized implementation of control policies. In large networks of dynamical systems, centralized information processing imposes a heavy burden on individual nodes and is often infeasible. To overcome this challenge, she combines tools and ideas from control theory, distributed optimization, and compressive sensing to develop distributed estimation and control strategies that require limited information exchange between the individual subsystems.
