INFRASTRUCTURAL IMAGINARY

The book, Infrastructural Imaginary, presents a collection of images and essays from a year-long exploration of Taylor Yard by the curatorial platform Roundhouse. Founded in 2016 by urban historian Noémie Despland-Lichtert and joined by designer Brendan Shea, Roundhouse aims to investigate urban change by study

Illustrated with maps, drawings, and photographs, the book traces a discourse around infrastructure and the conditions of post-industrial sites through a multifaceted approach: scholarship and speculation, creative site exploration and archival research. Through five chapters and dedicated to a single site, it is a reflection and challenge to the ideologies of the built environment, Los Angeles in particular.
