Welcome to the Neuroimaging with Deep Learning Lab (NIDLL).
NIDLL develops interpretable artificial intelligence to understand brain health, aging, and disease. We integrate structural, diffusion, perfusion, and functional MRI with sleep biosignals, molecular imaging, blood biomarkers, and longitudinal clinical outcomes. Our goal is to derive precise, noninvasive markers that explain individual trajectories—not just group averages.
A central focus is the relationship among sleep, cerebrovascular health, the glymphatic system, and neurodegeneration. We build regional measures of perivascular spaces and brain-fluid dynamics, lifespan normative models, and multimodal predictors of brain age, disease progression, recovery, and treatment response. These methods are applied across Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, stroke, epilepsy, sleep disorders, and early neurodevelopment.
Led by Dr. Hosung Kim at the USC Stevens Neuroimaging and Informatics Institute, NIDLL bridges computational neuroscience and translational medicine. We collaborate across international cohorts to turn rigorous neuroimaging AI into clinically meaningful tools for precision neurology.
