LO: To reflect on my work. LO: To use two lines of code.
Lets tell others about our work.
We will use Octostudio to share our work.
We want the sprite to move around our work and talk at the same time.
How can we get the sprite to talk and move at the same time?
What is the best voice effect to use so that our message is clear?
Open Octostudio
Click Add a Background
Use the camera to take a photo of your work
Choose a sprite to tell others about your work.
Record your voice talking about your work.
My task was to ...

LO: To add ourselves as a character.
LO: To add speech with my voice.
Last week we drew monsters and had the AI voice speak. This week let's add our voice to our creations.
We are going to be the star of our coding this week.
Open Octostudio
Click Add a Sprite
Use the camera to take a photo of yourself. think about your pose.
Make yourself move by coding.
Can you make yourself spin around? ( 360)
Can you make yourself glow? (pink)
Add your voice to your sprite. What will you say? My favourite thing at school is ...

LO: To use a sequence of vertical commands to create a desired outcome.
LO: To create our own characters.
Remember when we drew our monsters?
Let's draw a digital monster on Draw N Tell or Explain everything and then save it to your photo reel.
Now lets add our character to Octo Studio.
Bring your character to life by coding it to move in different directions.
In Scratch Jnr we had different blocks for different directions but in this we don't. Take a look at how we get the sprite to move in different directions.
When we change size, + positive numbers mean it gets bigger, - negative numbers means it gets smaller

LO: To use a sequence of vertical commands to create a desired outcome.
Time to uplevel our coding skills.
From Scratch Jnr to OctoStudio, let's take at the similarities and differences.
What are your thoughts?
Let's explore!
Add a character and make it move.
In this video I have made it move, jump, glow green, added sound and made the background change.

LO: To make predictions. LO: To animate a digital drawing.
Let's watch up till 2.07.
What has the crab found?
It does look like an egg. What sort of creature is in the egg?
Draw the creature you think is in the egg using Draw n Tell.
Must use the white background.
Save your drawing to your photos
Now upload your drawing to animate it.

LO: To animate from a photo.
We've animated sea creatures and monsters but can we make ourselves move?
What would be the best pose for us to take a photo?
When we drew our monsters they had to be on a white background. How could we get a plain background for our photo of us?

LO: To share my learning as a video.
Can I share my learning on Clips even if I haven't done it on an iPad?
Yes! Let's explore how.
First use the camera app to take your photos.
We can use our photos to make the content of our movie.
Next go to Clips to uplaod all your photos to Clips.
Here's where to find them.
What if my photos are not in the right order?
In Clips, hold down the photo you want to move on the timeline and it will pop out and then you can just drag it to where you want it.
Today we are going to be retelling the story, the hungry hungry caterpillar.
Let's watch.
In groups of 4 or 5, decide on who is going to do which part of the story.
First the caterpillar was small and it was very hungry.
It ate lots and lots of food.
Then it became very big and fat.
Finally it turned into a butterfly.
Draw all the pictures then take photos of all the people's mahi in your group.
Now head to clips and add the picture to a new clip.
We can use posters to make title pages.

What is the main message in this story?
What do you think the author is trying to tell us?
Scratch Jnr Logo
Use Scratch Jnr to create our own cat hiding in a box.
Here are some on the coding blocks we are going to be using
Challenge: Add a new page. Where else might your cat like to hide?
Let's share our mahi with our group.
What have we learnt today?
Why is it important that we keep testing our code?

LO: To use code blocks to move multiple sprites at different speeds.
Watch the videos above. What do you think our task is today?
A race! Who or what will be the fastest? You decide.
Scratch Jnr Logo
Choose 3 sprites to take part in a race. Who will be the fastest?
Skills: - Editing a sprite
- Editing a background
- Make multiple sprites move at different speeds.
- Recording my voice
Here are some on the coding blocks we are going to be using:
Challenge 1: Add speech bubbles to each of your characters. Where might the characters talk? What might they say?
Challenge 2: Can you make your race an obstacle race? What will you need to add in? How will you make your sprite jump over the obstacle?
Using full screen let's imagine we are at a gallery where we can go round and look at all the artwork.
As we wander around, remember we can only touch the green flag.
What were some of the fabulous reasons that the chickens crossed the road?

LO: To code a character to move.
Scratch Jnr is a coding programme.
Coding is when we give instructions to a robot/computer to tell it what to do. You write the instructions, and the robot computer follows them step-by-step.
We are going to use the blockly code.
Make Scratch the Cat move around the screen.
Here are some on the coding blocks we are going to be using
Challenge: Add a new character and make them move around the screen without bumping into scratch.
Join together with another person/pair and get ready to share your awesome photos.
