A Perfect Day In Kennett Square

Many people who go to Ursuline live in Delaware, but I live about twenty minutes away in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. It’s a small town, and you might have visited before to see the beautiful fountains, plants, and fireworks at Longwood Gardens. However, Kennett is more than Longwood Gardens. If you drive in a little further, you can experience the magic of Main Street with all of its cute small businesses and amazing restaurants. I would like to take you on a tour to show you some of my favorite spots in my hometown!

WorKS

WorKS is one of my favorite stores in Kennett. Although it is not on Main Street, it is easy to walk or drive to from the other shops. It is home to the wonderful creations of over 15 local vendors. I enjoy spending my time in the vintage trinkets and clothing sections. Everything in these sections is so unique that it’s hard to pick one thing to get! WorKS also has amazing handcrafted beauty products which would make the perfect gift. WorKS is open on Friday-Sunday, so it’s the perfect place to stop in during your weekend shopping spree! If you come to Kennett, I highly recommend checking out WorKS for a shopping experience unlike any other.

Mrs. Robinson’s Tea Shop

Mrs. Robinson’s Tea Shop is a cute store on Main Street that sells many kinds of tea and more. The tea shop has over 200 types of tea, so there’s definitely something for everyone. If you’re not a tea person, don’t worry. This store also has lots of amazing gifts for all different ages. You can expect to find home decor created by local artists, jewelry and other accessories, and lots of fun mugs. Mrs. Robinson’s Tea Shop is a great store, and I think everyone would enjoy looking around.

Philter

If you’re looking for a cute coffee shop during your visit to Kennett, Philter is perfect for you! The rustic interior combined with all of the plants creates the perfect ambiance for a coffee date, studying, or just a quick stop to recharge. Philter serves a variety of delicious pastries, sandwiches, and hot and cold drinks. For anyone who is used to BrewHaHa, I suggest you try something new and come to Philter!

Talula’s Table

Talula’s Table is a small cafe and market that offers a wide variety of sandwiches, sweets, drinks, and more. All of their farm-to-table food is freshly made, and they also have gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options. I personally love the Caprese sandwich and their lemonade. While Talula’s Table is pretty casual during the day, they also offer more upscale options for dinner. You can even book a reservation for a year in advance to get a special eight-course meal! I love all of the options that Talula’s Table provides, and I think that anyone coming to Kennett would enjoy it too.

There are so many great places to visit in my hometown that it’s hard to pick just a few to share! Considering the holidays are approaching, I think it’s worth it to come up to Kennett to do some shopping and try some new restaurants. I hope that this short list is enough to convince you to spend a day in Kennett Square to experience not only these places, but to explore the ones I didn’t mention.
